Abstract
The translation of an essay “The Implied Writer” (Ima Edilen Yazar) written by the famous Turkish novelist, screenwriter and 2006 Nobel Prize winner in Literature Orhan Pamuk was made as an attempt to present literature of the best Turkish writers to the Ukrainian audience. Basically, “The Implied Writer”, the speech that Pamuk gave when he received the Puterbaugh Prize presented by World Literature magazine, in April 2006 is about the psychology of writing, the urge and adventure of being a writer. The translation of the essay into Ukrainian language is carried out for the first time, which enables Ukrainian reader to get acquainted with the best narrative examples of the Modern Turkish literature.
