Abstract

In 2021 Ukraine celebrates 150 years since the birth of the famous orientalist, polyglot linguist, writer and poet, ethnographer, co-founder of the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences Ahatanhel Yukhymovych Krymsky. The future scientist was born in Volyn in the city of Volodymyr-Volynskyi. The family did not live here for long, but the people of Volyn consider A. Krymsky their compatriot. Realizing the great contribution of the scholar to the development of various branches of science, a number of scientific institutions in Volyn preserve, honor and promote the life and scientific heritage of Krymsky. This year such organizations of Volyn as Volyn National University named after Lesya Ukrainka, Volyn Museum of Local Lore, Volyn Institute of Postgraduate Pedagogical Education, Volyn State Regional Universal Scientific Library named after Olena Pchilka, Volodymyr-Volynsky Pedagogical College named after A. Yu. Krymsky co-organized a number of scientific events (such as exhibition, scientific seminar, evening of historical portrait, round table) dedicated to Ahatanhel Krymsky.
