Abstract

This article is concerned with analysis of the specific use of the prepositions בְּ-, לְ- and כְּ-, the particle דְּ-, and nota accusativi in the Jewish liturgical poetry in Aramaic, which was written in IV–VIII centuries. The following cases may be described as a “nonstandard” use of the particles: confusion of syntactic functions of the prepositions בְּ- and לְ-, interchange of the prepositions לְ- and עַל, the preposition בְּ- and the particle דְּ- in function of nota accusativi, duplication of semantically allied preposition for emphatic purpose (for example, בְּ- and בְּגוֹ), the use of the adverb הֵיך in the meaning of the preposition כְּ-; and variation of prepositions which govern noun-objects after the verbs. Most of these cases may be explained with the influence of live colloquial Aramaic, and some of them – with specificities of poetical discourse.
